Brad Sucks

Nein, dieses ist keine Beschimpfung, sondern der Bandname einer "ein Mann Band", welche ich zufällig im Netz gefunden habe. Doch Vorsicht, ich bin mittlerweile mehr oder weniger "süchtig" geworden. Klare Linie, erstklassige Basslines und der Hammer auf der Autobahn, wenn mein Auto mal wieder hergeben muß was es kann. Nicht viel übrigens! ;o) Doch auch ruhigere Stücke sind dabei, sprich für jeden etwas!

Die Musik scheint in völliger Eigenregie von "Brad" (schöne Selbstironie) geschrieben, produziert und aufgenommen zu sein, was bezüglich Qualität aber nicht zu hören ist. Kompliment dafür!

No, this is not an insult, but the name of a "one man band", which I randomly found on the net. But beware, I'm now more or less "addictive" to it. Clear structure, excellent basslines and brilliant on the highway when my car once again has to show how fast it can go. Which sadly is not that fast! ;o) But this music has a bit of everything, so everyone who likes "real" music should have a look!

The music seems to be completely written, produced and recorded by "Brad" (great self-irony), which in terms of quality can not be heard. My compliments for that!

Hamburg ist doch immer für eine Überraschung gut!

Eigentlich mehr durch Zufall habe ich von der Bewerbung des Eimsbüttler Marco Scheffler bei der ZDF - Show "Ich kann Kanzler" erfahren und muß sagen, die Idee die dahinter steckt und auch die bisherigen Einblicke in das Programm von "Mensch Macht Politik" - einer neuen politischen Bewegung aus Hamburg, sind jede Unterstützung wert.

More by chance I've learned about the application of Marco Scheffler for the TV - Show "Ich kann Kanzler" ("I can be chancellor") and really have to say that I like the idea which stands behind it, as well as the insights into the programm of "Mensch Macht Politik" - a new political movement from Hamburg, which definitely is worth to be supported.

Thorsten Dörp

Der aus Lübeck stammende Thorsten Dörp hat nun endlich seinen Debüt - Roman veröffentlicht. "Wegen Julia" heißt er und erzählt wie der Titel schon vermuten läßt von der Liebe und seinen uns wohlbekannten Tücken. "Women's edition" hat es bereits als "Buch des Monats März 2009" deklariert und eine vielversprechende Rezension über den Roman veröffentlicht.

Seit Neustem ist nun auch seine Webseite (www.thorstendoerp.de) online und verrät uns das ein oder andere Detail aus seinem Leben... Was? Das könnt Ihr HIER nachlesen, eine knapp gehaltene humorvolle Auflistung aller doofen Fragen die man immer mal wieder gestellt bekommt und den passenden Antworten dazu! Auch eine Hörprobe seines Romans ist bereits zu finden, weiteres befindest sich jedoch noch in Arbeit!

Dennoch.... reinschauen, neugierig werden, Buch kaufen und viel Spaß bei Lesen! ;o)

Thorsten Dörp

The German author Thorsten Dörp, who was born and raised in Lübeck / Germany, has finally published his first novel.
"Wegen Julia" ("Because of Julia") its title and like the title suggests this book is about love and its well-known pitfalls. "Women's edition" has already named it "Book of the Month - March 2009" and published a promising review on the novel.

Junge Fotografie - Nina Hüttmann

Die Hamburger Fotografin Nina Hüttmann

Kennengelernt habe ich Nina bei einer Party von gemeinsamen Freunden, die sie aus Spaß als
Foto - Dokumentation festgehalten hat. Wer kennt das nicht, auf Parties wird fotografiert und man hofft eigentlich nur das die Bilder nicht all zu peinlich geworden sind, doch diesmal war es anders... Nicht einfach nur das übliche Spiel: "Ich halt dir eine Kamera vors Gesicht und drück ab!" Nein, sie blieb während sie fotografierte im Hintergrund und machte dabei neben lustigen Partyfotos auch tolle Portraits. Man merkt ihr die Liebe zu ihrem Beruf an, obwohl sie ja eigentlich frei hatte und als Gast auf dieser Party war, schien sie völlig in ihrer Aufgabe aufzugehen, ohne es jedoch wie Arbeit aussehen zu lassen und das Ergebnis sprach halt auch für sich...

Auf Grund dieser Fotos fing ich am im Netz nach weiteren Arbeiten von ihr zu stöbern und wurde schnell fündig... während ich ja schon die Fotos die ich kannte klasse fand, ihre professionell fotografieren Arbeiten sind mehr als beeindruckend. Wunderschöne schwarz-weiss Portraits, die draußen fotografiert worden sind. Ihr Konzept dort zu arbeiten wo es sich ihre Kunden wünschen, scheint aufzugehen, denn all ihre Bilder wirken sehr natürlich und scheinen nicht nur die Person, sondern auch deren Persönlichkeit widerzuspiegeln.

Da sich meine Freundin schon immer mal schöne Fotos von sich gewünscht hat, sich aber nie wirklich mit der Idee in ein Fotostudio zu gehen anfreunden konnte, habe ich ihr dann zu ihren letzten Geburtstag einen Gutschein über ein Portraitshooting von Junge Fotografie geschenkt.
Zwar durfte ich beim Shooting nicht dabei sein, doch die Fotos und die Begeisterung meiner Freundin sprechen für sich.... (Sorry Leute, meine Freundin möchte nicht, das ich davon welche hier veröffentliche, sie sagt sie hat sie für mich gemacht und zwar NUR für mich ;o)

Aber schaut doch einfach mal bei Nina unter www.ninahuettmann.de vorbei, ich kann sie nur empfehlen und wer mir nicht glaubt, der sollte mal bei Qype* reinschauen, auch dort nur Top Bewertungen.

The German photographer Nina Huettmann

I met Nina at a party of common friends, which she captured for fun as some kind of photo – documentation. Everybody knows it, you get photographed at parties and all you can hope for is that these photos do not turn out too embarrassing... but this time it was different. Not just the usual game: "I put a camera in your face and shot!" No, during the whole time she was photographing she stayed in the background and captured funny party-scenes, as well as really good portraits. You could notice how much she loves her profession, even though she wasn't actually working and as a guest at this party, she seemed to be totally into it and the result speaks for itself ...

Based on these photos, I started looking for more of her work on the internet and quickly made a find ... while I really liked the photos I already knew, her professionally photographs are more than impressive. Beautiful black and white portraits, which mainly have been photographed outside. Her concept to work where her customers want her to, seems to work out, because all her pictures are very natural and seem to not only reflect the person but also his/her personality.

Since my girlfriend always wanted to have good photos of herself and never liked the idea of going into a photo-studio, I gave her a Junge Fotografie - gift voucher for a portrait shooting on her last birthday. While I was not allowed to take part in the shooting, the photos and the enthusiasm of my girlfriend afterwards, speaks for itself... (sorry guys, I'm not allowed to publish any of my girlfriends photos in my blog, these were specially made for me and ONLY me! ;o)

But have a look at Ninas website www.ninahuettmann.de, I can only recommend her and who do not believe me, have a look at Qype*, even there only top ratings.

Schwanbeck

Minimal - Electronic aus Hamburg

Schwanbeck ist mir erstmalig Ende 2002 bei den
"Electronic Eldorado" - Parties in der Tanzhalle (St. Pauli) aufgefallen.
Grund: chillige Musik - cool präsentiert

Über das Label Träumer & Tänzer veröffentlichte er 2003 seinen Debut - Track: Dirt - E
Ein weiterer Track mit dem Titel Cooler folgte noch im selben Jahr und ist auf der Scheibe Tanzhalle St. Pauli zu finden. Genau wie die erste Platte war auch diese Veröffentlichung schnell vergriffen.

Das Prädikat: Mastering by TobiTob @ Legendary Sauna Club spricht in der Szene wohl für sich selbst!

Ebenfalls auf beiden über Träumer & Tänzer veröffentlichten Platten ist Wegner mit von der Partie und definitiv des Reinhörens wert!

Dann wurde es still um Schwanbeck, bis er Ende 2007 bei myspace wieder auftauchte und uns seither regelmäßig mit neuen Tracks in seinen Bann zieht!

Auch bei last.fm ist Schwanbeck vertreten.... hört rein, es ist die Zeit wert!

Electro - Minimal from Hamburg

I recognized Schwanbeck at the parties of "Electronic Eldorado“ (Tanzhalle, St. Pauli, Hamburg) for the first time at the end of 2002.
Reason: relaxed music - cool presented

In 2003 he released his debut - track: Dirt – E at Träumer und Tänzer (record label from Hamburg)
Another track, entitled Cooler, followed the same year and is to be found at the vinyl Tanzhalle St. Pauli. Just like the first record, this release was quickly sold out.

The attribute: Mastering by TobiTob @ Legendary Sauna Club speaks, at least in Germany, for itself!

Both vinyls of Träumer & Tänzer also contain tracks of Wegner, another DJ definitely worth listening!

After that Schwanbeck disappeared from the scene until he showed up at myspace at the end of 2007 and his tracks once again cast a spell over us!

Schwanbeck is also to be found at last.fm ... great music and worth the time to listen!
